Hey Untamed Woman!
I know your life is overflowing with tasks aimed at building your business and serving your
clients, so I’m grateful you’re taking a moment to read this post. Let’s talk about how you can
optimize your time and maximize your results.
You’ve probably heard it before: your habits impact your day in big ways. But have you ever
thought about how small, consistent habits can lead to massive transformations?
For example, imagine your ideal morning: waking up early, basking in some Vitamin D, sipping
cacao, and journaling before starting your day.
But what happens if your alarm doesn’t go off? What if you skip the journaling, or pour yourself a
coffee instead of your preferred cacao? It’s easy to feel thrown off, right? For me, it feels a little
like I’ve lost my focus or let myself down. But here’s the thing: we Untamed Women don’t dwell
on guilt. We rise up.
And the secret to rising stronger is through small, consistent habits.
This is where micro-habits come in. These tiny shifts, when done consistently, build a strong
foundation for bigger changes. If you want a healthier life, better habits, and stronger results,
you start by getting the small habits right.
One of my favorite habit-building books is Atomic Habits by James Clear. It boils down the
science of habit formation into bite-sized pieces that are easy to implement and incredibly
effective. Let’s dive into a few of my favorite takeaways that can help you build lasting change,
one micro-habit at a time.
Habit stacking is simple but powerful. You take an existing habit and “stack” a new one right
after it.
Let’s say you want to start a skincare routine. If you already brush your teeth every morning,
stack this new habit right after it:
After I brush my teeth, I will wash and moisturize my face.
Now, let’s scale this down to something even more achievable—a micro-habit.
After I brush my teeth, I will apply one pump of moisturizer.
Say you want to add healthy fats to your diet, you could stack your morning like this:
When I make my breakfast shake, I will add half an avocado.
These micro-habits might seem tiny, but over time, they build momentum. You’ll find yourself
smiling more, feeling better, and radiating that positivity to everyone around you. Imagine how
these little shifts could snowball into massive change in your confidence, mindset, and overall
health!

As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get excited and jump all in. But here’s the problem: we often burn
out when we try to make huge changes all at once. That’s where the Two-Minute Rule comes
in. James Clear argues that every new habit should only take two minutes to complete. This
minimizes the resistance you feel toward getting started.
For example:
Starting small makes the habit feel less overwhelming. By simply opening your laptop, you’re
more likely to start writing. By putting on your gym clothes, working out feels like the next natural
step. And turning off your phone 30 minutes before bed helps you wind down without even
thinking about it.
These micro-habits are the entry point to the larger changes you’re seeking. They are the
gateway to the success you’ve been dreaming of.
Small habits compound over time. As James Clear puts it, these small decisions either move
you closer to or further from who you want to be.
Let’s say you want to become a runner. Don’t go for a 5-mile run the first day. Instead, put on
your running shoes as soon as you get home from work and walk for two minutes. Just two
minutes! This simple action makes running feel like the next logical step.
Want to be a reader? Put a book on your nightstand. Every time you reach for your phone,
the book will be right there. It’s a simple reminder that you’re cultivating a habit of reading.
Want to be a leader? Tell yourself you already are. Every day you practice embodying the
leader you want to become, even through small affirmations.
These small decisions add up over time. And when you make the right choices day in and day
out, you’ll look back and be amazed at how much you’ve transformed. The beauty of it is that
the micro-habits become who you are, effortlessly.
“Your habits matter because they help you become the type of person you wish to be.”
– Atomic Habits
So, what kind of leader do you want to be?
Start by choosing just one micro-habit today. Stick with it. Over time, you’ll see how these tiny,
consistent actions lead to massive results.
